BOSSIER

Creative Strategy+ Community Engagement

Creative Project Management

Assist 30 special project creators on their semester-long projects aiming to create intentional full-page spreads that cover topics that interest Feminists of Georgetown University.

As Art Director, provide support with the refining of ideation for creators as well as visual stylings. Meeting weekly as well as assisting during photography and video shoots.

All 30 project creators finished in a timely manner and presented fantastic spreads covering Black beauty, masturbation, “waves,” ink portraiture, and undoing. Additionally, covering all visual stylings of spreads left unfinished by the graphics team. As well as presenting our first-ever virtual reality project.

Community Engagement

Engage the larger Georgetown campus community, aiming to involve more BIPOC and LGBTQ+ campus communities within the larger magazine community.

As Editor-In-Chief, created intentional outreach with partner organizations and campus groups with pre-existing membership dominated by BIPOC and LGBTQ+ students. Offering special edition projects and spreads to newer members wanting to take on additional responsibilities.

By meeting students where they were rather than attempting to persuade them from a far, Bossier was able to recruit an incredibly diverse set of voices and contributors. Including the official integration of our first ever “mini-issue,” which illustrated sapphic re-designs of classic art pieces. The overall distribution of print copies ended up at 6,000 copies, with an additional 300,000 engagements on all social and digital platforms.
